INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) -- The Los Angeles Kings, whose top two goalies suffered groin injuries last weekend, acquired goalie Ryan Bach from the Detroit Red Wings for a conditional selection in the 2000 entry draft.
Bach, who turned 25 Wednesday, was 2-1-0 with a 2.74 goals-against average while playing in four games with the Utah Grizzlies of the International Hockey League this season.
He played in 43 games last season for the IHL's Houston Aeros, posting a 26-9-6 record and 2.32 goals-against average.
Also Thursday, the Red Wings reassigned center Stacy Roest and defenseman Yan Golubovsky to their Adirondack affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Roest led Detroit with five goals in nine preseason games. Golubovsky played in seven preseason games and was scoreless.
To make room for Bach on their roster, the Kings assigned 18-year-old goalie Alexey Volkov back to his junior team, the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Kings' Stephane Fiset and Jamie Storr suffered groin injuries in Sunday's 5-5 tie with the Colorado Avalanche. Manny Legace, in his first NHL start, had 49 saves Wednesday night as the Kings and Florida Panthers played to a 1-1 tie.
Bach will be in uniform tonight when the Kings face the Tampa Bay Lightning.
